NOKIA X6


The Nokia X6 has been a popular handset since its initial inception in February of this year. Its impressive and aesthetically pleasing style belies a raft of useful functionality which utilises the ARM 11 434 MHz processor and Symbian operating system, which within this particular handset is version 9.4. The handset is available in several colours which now includes a sophisticated silver colour variant.
The Nokia X6 16GB incorporates a colourful and enigmatic 3.2 inch TFT touch screen which offers the display capabilities of 16 million colours and their variants within a 360 x 640 pixel screen size, offering imagery of outstanding quality and clarity. The handset includes both accelerometer and proximity sensors as its means of automating elements including image orientation as well as the battery saving properties of auto shut off. An unusual feature is the inclusion of a scratch resistant glass surface, which provides protection for the display screen.
The handset provides class 32 versions of GPRS and EDGE in combination with blue tooth and microUSB connections.
Internet access is provided by virtue of the inclusion of both HSDPA and Wi Fi connections offering speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. Internal memory of 16GB is provided and is sufficient for most needs.
The handset includes both an MP4/MP3 media player as well as a stereo FM radio with RDS which provide both visual and audio entertainment options, combined with the inclusion of a number of games including Spore, D Mix tour and Asphalt4. Satellite navigation is provided by virtue of the GPS function which comes with A-GPS support and utilises Ovi maps 3.0
The handset offers a 5.0 megapixel camera that makes use of the renowned Carl Zeiss optics in addition to auto focus and a dual LED flash. The ability to tag an image by location, otherwise known as Geo-tagging is also included as standard.
